Dr. Emma Rosi conducts research on the factors that control and influence aquatic ecosystem function. Much of her research has focused on human influences to aquatic ecosystems, including land use change and restoration, widespread agricultural development and associated crop byproducts, urbanization and release of novel contaminants, and hydrologic modifications associated with dams. She began working on the Mara River in 2010, studying both the ecosystem effects of large mammal inputs, and anthropogenic influences, including growing urban settlements and tourism establishments.
